Check Out Procedure

 

·         The PT-1500 Darkroom Timer does not require calibration, only a functional check.

INITIAL SETUP

Refer to Pictorial 3-1

Construction Manual, page 35

 

(    )         Disconnect the unit from the AC line voltage.

 

(    )         Unplug all accessories from the sockets on the top of the unit.

 

(    )         Remove the bottom cover from the unit.

 

(    )         Position the chassis with the front display panel facing down.

 

(    )         Adjust the DIMMER control R32 [top – right] to maximum clockwise.

 

(    )         Set the DISPLAY switch SW1 [top – right] to the ON position.

 

(    )         Adjust the VOLUME control R46 [circuit board – right] to the center of rotation.

 

(    )         Disconnect the jumper [circuit board – right] from the NORM socket.

 

(    )         Connect the jumper [circuit board – right] to the TEST socket.

 

(    )         Position the chassis with the front display panel facing up.

MICROPROCESSOR SELF TEST

·         Several things are going to happen in a short time. To repeat the sequence, unplug the unit from the AC line voltage. Wait a few seconds, and then reconnect the unit back to the AC line.

 

(    )         Connect the unit to the AC line voltage.

 

(    )         The front panel should display the following:

 

v  Each segment of the five displays [starting at the left] should light.

 

v  All segments in a given display should light individually, and then stay lit, before the next display goes through its cycle.

 

v  When all of the segments in all of the displays are lit, the display should look like drawing #1 on the Pictorial.

 

v  The SEC indicator should be lit.

 

v  The display will change almost instantaneously to drawing #2 on the Pictorial.

 

v  Both the MIN and the SEC should be lit.

 

v  The LED above the ENGLR key should be lit.

 

v  The three LEDs on the circuit board should light and stay lit.

KEYPAD TEST

 

·         Hold the individual Key down. A quick “beep” should be heard and the display should indicate as shown in the Response column.

(    )         Disconnect the unit from the AC line voltage.

 

(    )         Position the chassis with the front panel facing down.

 

(    )         Disconnect jumper from the TEST socket.

 

(    )         Connect jumper to the NORN socket.

 

(    )         Operational check out is complete.
